Frightening video clearly shows Great Grandfather José Flores hit by NYPD scooter.

NYPD officer Thomas Hopper lost control of his scooter striking Flores in Brooklyn across the street at Liberty Avenue and Barbey Street in Cypress Hills in August of 2012.

Officer Hopper claimed that Flores was jaywalking, in the middle of the street, darting in front of him. Video surveillance tells a different story.

Officer Hopper lost control of his scooter skidding on his side then striking Mr.Flores as he was already was practically to the other side.

Sadly, NYPD officer Hopper issued a misdemeanor summons to the badly injured, great grandfather for jaywalking, claiming that Flores darted out in front of him in the middle of the street between parked cars.

After dealing with the courts and a stint in jail, a judge finally released Flores, where he was hospitalized for four months to treat two fractured vertebrae.
