Bronx hit and run driver takes life of mother

News like this is always so difficult to report. However, we hope our article will shed light in helping Police apprehend the hit and run driver that caused the fatal crash taking the life of Cardinal Spellman High School cheer leading coach and mother of three Michelle Muccio from Pelham Bay.

Michelle Muccio, 44, was driving south on I-95 near Gun Hill Road with her 16-year-old daughter Francesca, around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 17 when a speeding vehicle abruptly cut in front of her.

The sudden reckless cutoff sent Michelle Muccio’s 2004 GMC Envoy spinning out, then flipping over the road’s metal guardrail, and continuing to roll over several times.

Michelle was partially ejected from the vehicle and did not survive the impact.

Michelle’s daughter Francesca escaped with only minor injuries. She was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center and has now returned to her family.

Her last words to her mother were “Mom be careful” just before the crash.

“Her mother had fallen on top of her and my granddaughter had to crawl out of the window,” according to family members recount of the accident.

The driver that cut off Michelle just kept going. All Francesca can recall was that the other vehicle was a dark, SUV similar to her mother’s.

Michelle is survived by her husband of 22 years, Christopher; her three daughters Nikki Marie, Francesca and Daniella Muccio.

A GoFundMe page was created to defer the costs of her funeral and has raised over $12,000 in just over two days from all of the people and lives Michelle touched.

“The driver who appears to have caused this devastating accident that took the life of a mother of three, wife and beloved coach’s death, is at fault. It’s been noted through several social media postings claiming that the same driver had dangerously cut around them just moments before the accident. This helps reconstruct the vehicle’s movements prior to the accident. ”  Said New York car accident lawyer Paul Ajlouny.

Bronx Crash Injures 5

SUV ROLLOVER ON BRUCKNER EXPRESSWAY

Bronx Crash

The vehicle hit a guardrail on a Bronx parkway

An SUV that hit a guardrail on a Bronx parkway, flipped over several times and ejected an 11 year old boy riding in the back of the SUV, critically injuring him.

The woman behind the wheel of the SUV lost control of the vehicle heading east in the center lane of the Bruckner Expressway near Elder Ave. about 11:35 a.m., according to authorities.

The boy was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

The driver, and a 17-year-old girl and 57-year old woman riding in the back were all taken to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.

Paul Ajlouny, New York personal injury lawyer, weighs in this accident off the Bruckner Expressway. “Car crashes are the leading cause of children / teen injuries and fatalities since young people have the lowest seat belt usage of any age group.

Statistics show that 55 % of young people who have been seriously injured or have died in vehicle collisions, were not wearing a seat belt at the time.”  States Mr. Ajlouny.
