Multi vehicle Crash On I-95 In Bronx Injures 7. 4 ejected from vehicle. Surprise, surprise, an unlicensed driver.
7 people were injured in a multi vehicle crash on the New England Thruway in the Bronx.
The crash occurred in Eastchester on the southbound side of the thruway near Conner Street around 1 a.m. Sunday when the driver of a van with five people inside was trying to get off at Exit 14 and hit a box truck, which hit another truck, according to the NYPD.
Four passengers in the van were ejected, the fifth was also injured, including two others in the box truck. NY EMS transported the injured to Jacobi and St. Barnabas Hospitals. All listed in stable condition.
New York personal injury attorney, Paul Ajlouny, gives his two cents on such an accident. “It’s no surprise that these 4 individuals were injured in this crash. They are luck they were not killed. Obviously they were not wearing those seat belts, or if any actually existed. Seat-belts save lives people. ” Said Mr. Ajlouny.
Department of Transportation data show 22 percent of backseat passengers do not buckle up.
The Department of Transportation states people not wearing a seat belt are 30 times more likely to be ejected from a vehicle during a crash.
In fatal crashes, more than three out of four people who are ejected die from their injuries.
