John Nash, wife, ‘A Beautiful Mind’, die in New Jersey Turnpike crash

John Nash, and his wife Alicia Nash were killed when their taxi crashed on the New Jersey Turnpike, May 24, 2015 at 8:33 AM.

You may of heard of John Nash for his work in game theory, winning the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1994.

His breakthroughs in maths – and was known to have  struggles with schizophrenia.

A terrible loss of two brilliant, loving and creative people. Seat-belts save lives.

Police reports indicate the two were in a taxi traveling southbound in the left lane of the turnpike when the driver of the Ford Crown Victoria lost control as he tried to pass a Chrysler in the center lane, crashing into a guard rail near Interchange 8A in Monroe Township, according to State Police Sgt. Gregory Williams.

The two were ejected from the vehicle and reports indicate they had not been wearing their seat belts.

The driver of the second vehicle also crashed into the guard rail. The taxi driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and flown to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with non-life-threatening injuries. He was identified as Tark Girgis, 46, of Elizabeth.

A passenger in the Chrysler was treated for neck pain.

Two beautiful lives lost on NJ highways probably due to speed, negligence and not using seat belts. The NJ highways are not raceways, congested with professional racing drivers.

Here’s some advice, Buckle up!  Do you really want to put your life in the hands of a Taxi driver for goodness sake!”
