Wrong Way Driver on FDR Drive

ix people have been injured in a wrong-way crash, collision involving a vehicle traveling the wrong way on the FDR Drive in Manhattan at 4 a.m. Thursday near East 23rd Street.

Apparently the driver, a woman in her 30s, entered the FDR at 34th Street—she went south in the northbound lanes at 4 a.m., her car “struck two SUV vehicles near 23rd Street. Several people were hurt, with at least three victims taken to Bellevue Hospital in serious condition.

The driver of a sedan entered the southbound FDR from the wrong side at E. 34th St.

Paul Ajlouny, New York car accident lawyer comments, “This tragic collision occurred at 4 a.m. early morning, entering FDR Drive going the wrong way, which is a possible indication that the driver may have been driving under the influence.”

The driver is in critical condition, as is another person; three others were injured. The FDR was closed for about three hours.
