PEDESTRIANS KILLED

Weekend of fatal accidents in New York

It doesn’t look like the low 25 mph speed limit is working.  The speed limit was just reduced to 25 mph, but the weekend was filled with fatal pedestrian accidents across the city, including one in the Bronx.

Paul Ajlouny, New York car accident lawyer, weighs in on this tragic weekend. “The woman killed while attempting to cross the Major Deegan Expressway early Sunday morning, is an exception because there is no speed limit on the Freeway.  She should not have been crossing the Major Deegan Expressway.”

Mr. Ajlouny continues, “There should be pedestrians laws for people that cross the streets while distracted on green.  The reduced speed limit doesn’t mean people could cross on a green light or jaywalk without being attentive and abiding by the laws. Pedestrians that walk out into the street while texting talking on their phones or listening to their iPods are just asking for trouble.”
